I which I decide to watch the NFL Draft instead of rewatching Romeo X Juliet

I just spent 6 hours watching NFL draft coverage yesterday. Why, you ask? Cause one cannot live off of Anime alone, first of all. And secondly, I wanted to see if the Detroit Lions would draft a wide receiver again, which they did. So I start to gripe and complain about it when certain facts were pointed out to me:

  1. Calvin Johnson is indeed one of the best players in the draft behind JaMarcus Russel and would be a boon to the offense if they kept him. Also if they did decide to trade him, they could use him to get some of the high profile free agents lurking around.

  2. When I pointed out they needed a quarterback more than a receiver, I was then asked to name a quarterback worth a 1st round pick. I couldn't name any. (And no offense to Brady Quinn, but there was a reason why ended up the 22nd pick instead of the 3rd or 4th like everyone predicted.) Besides, we ended up getting a QB in the 2nd round anyway.

And despite all that, the Browns first round maneuvering to get Quinn was pure win...If you were a Browns fan.

Anyway, I figure that I suspend my pessimism for now. After all, I can wait till September for things to fall to shit, now can I?

Code Geass Season 1 – Afterthoughts

Two shows that I have watch religiously ended their seasons: Battlestar Galatica and Code Geass. The reason I bring this up is because I swear to god they nearly ended the same damn way. But I not come to bury this season, but to kvetch about it, so....

  1. Y'know that one quote in the bible about how pointless it is to gain the world at the cost of one's soul? That's Lulu in a nutshell. He has climbed over a mountain of corpses to get what he wants, but adding Euphie's to said mountain may prove to be to much for him.

  2. Also, that conversation Kira - I mean Susaku and Lulu had? The last polite conversation either of them are gonna have. And then there's V.V....

  3. And while we're on the subject on lovers in mourning(If by which lover you mean “fantasizing about her while humping a table), Nina's building a Knightmare. This can't be good.

  4. Why do I get the feeling that Schinzel knew that it was all gonna end in tears?

  5. And speaking of bad tidings, Orange-kun's back!

Unlike Battlestar, though, I don't have to wait till next year to see what happens next though, so I guess I should count my blessings...

In Which the Spring Anime Lineup is Announced, and I Am Totally Underwhelmed.

Maybe I'm just tired or something, I don't know. Details and linkage are here.

I mean with the exception of The Skullman and...yeah, pretty much The Skullman (Okay, maybe the new Aika, and Darker Than Black), it's pretty much new episodes of older shows (Keroro, Saiunkoku, Emma, and Nahoha) shows based on videogames(Devil May Cry, Shining Tears, Blue Dragon), more Moe and Loli, and the obligatory Shonen Jump-based Anime (Claymore).

I suppose I should mention Romeo X Juliet too, seeing that it looks like it gonna be Gonzo's one good show for the year. And then there's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. From the looks of it, it appears to be the godawful 4Kids version dubbed in Japanese, so if anybody from Japan is reading this: I am SO very sorry!

So basically, it more of the same. But then again, That's how it's ALWAYS been. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that Spring Anime = Meh.

More Later. And I try not to wait a month after posting....
